Crabs of Hinduism

FMT - Santiago: All parties, not Hindraf alone must help Indians (selected extracts):

DAP MP Charles Santiago disagrees with Hindraf's position that only an Indian-dominated body can look after the welfare of the community [...]

[He said]: I have always spoken against race-based politics. And Hindraf’s position that only an Indian dominated party or organisation can look out for the welfare of other Indians in the country doesn’t sit well with me.

While I do agree that the Indian representation is lacking in the federal opposition, the responsibility of addressing the aspirations of the Indians remains with all parties.

In fact, it’s the onus of every political party in the country to address the needs of the poor, marginalised and disenfranchised.

I read Hindraf secretary Muniandy Ponnusamy’s statement with amusement. It reminded me of the very famous story about crabs pulling each other down – a powerful metaphor for what is often touted as a very typical Indian trait of not letting other Indians forge ahead.

It’s essential that instead of reacting, Muniandy spend some time really looking into Hindraf’s relevance to the Indians and also Malaysia’s political scene.

And by the way, taking pot shots at me won’t help Hindraf recapture the imagination of the Indians.

Tho' annoying but yes, strangely it amuses me too
To be pulled down by those crabby crabs of Hindraf
When you ask Indians about Hindraf they cried who?
Hence they fear the DAP who to Indians do not bluff

Hindraf wants to corner representation for Tambee
So they can strut around in Senate and Parliament
As Yang Berhormat who will appear busy as a bee
But in reality become Big Maharajah's so corpulent

Crabs may be crabby but yes they need to be eaten
Cooked in chillie sauce and goreng kaukau to death
Better for them to be makan instead of being beaten
Bet they'll preach Ganesh even unto their last breath

That's the problem of politics that lean on the Divine
Beguiling the victim-voters into supporting the party
Instead of policies they play on superstitious mind
Hoping faith clouds voters' eyes to not think and see

Urgently required: Ashes Surveyor

MM Online - IGP Khalid to retire on Monday (extracts):

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 — Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar will officially retire from service as Inspector-General of Police (IGP) at a ceremony to hand over duties to his successor at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), here, tomorrow.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also Home Minister, is expected to attend the ceremony scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Khalid said his retirement tomorrow, which would be one day earlier than his birthday on Tuesday was decided by he himself.

“Yes, it’s true that I will be retiring tomorrow and my plan after this is to enrol in cookery class at the Malaysian Institute of Baking in Petaling Jaya,” he told Bernama.

Aiyoh, where can lah. How men. Who will be looking out for seditious ashes slipping into Malaysia?

But here's Ong Boon Hwa's chance to return to Sitiawan to rest his soul.

The post at the lonely border will be vacant
I dread none will look out for seditious ashes
That of the nasty naughty communist agent
Through our ethnic barriers his soul crashes

Who says there is no more communist here
When it is obvious vote losses UMNO fears
Of the Heartland who dreads the buccaneer
The 'faithful' sees him as bogeyman 4 years

what treaty - can't remember

Sadly, one renegade to an international treaty
Put paid to the meaning of integrity & honour
Prohibited Chin Peng's return dishonourably
Treachery's his name, full of ugly dishonour

Now Heaven punishes him for an oath broken
Consigns him to utter shame and humiliation
Ignored by his 'faithful', he's truly heartbroken
But it's only Heaven's way of divine retribution

Malaysia semua Boleh so think BIG lah

wakakaka

Home for Rohingyas?

Compare current Malaysian compassion for Rohingyas to how we had badly treated the Vietnamese during their dire moments as they fled the communists in their homeland to arrive here by boats.

vietnamese boat people

We even had a very nasty bigoted high ranking politician threatening to tow their hardly-seaworthy vessels out to the high seas again and/or shoot them.

If we want to be compassionate towards the Rohingyas then that should be based on universal values and not on blind religious or ethnic loyalties, and a compassion which should be universally applied to everyone deserving of such sympathies.

Oh Rohingyas Rohingyas Quo Vadis
Flotsam of Poms, you colonial debris
Like Malayan Cinapeks if you please
Though the latter, alas, could not see

That your problems are almost similar
To theirs, save an exception in religion
That's the one with moon and scimitar
Which ruled Arakan in arbitrary fashion

You couldn't mix with local Burmese
Nor consider the locals as your kind
You treated them as if they've disease
Class them as pariahs, infidels, swine

Ali Jinnah didn't want bigoted loyalty
That you offered to his pure Pakistan
Instead of pledging to Burma loyalty
You thus rendered citizenship undone

Now you cry songs & tears of  sorrow
You gnash your teeth & tear your hair
Sadly for you, there seems no morrow
A sky with storms but not weather fair

Go home to Mother Land, Bangladesh
End thy Diaspora, run to Sheik Hasina
Cease silly threats and militarism brash
Such extremities won't take you very far

Be like the Malayan Cinapeks who live
In Malaysia amidst peace and harmony
Strong has been their wish their belief
In a life of co-happiness & co-prosperity

Live anew in what once was E Pakistan
With your brethren of Bengali ethnicity
That may end your sad & sorrowful run
Which unchecked may be unto eternity
